Dear Chaboya Families,
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself as the new principal of Chaboya Middle School beginning July 1. My name is Howard Greenfield and I am very excited to combine my commitment to 21st century learning to Chaboya's mission around striving to provide greater student success for our diverse student population. I believe that Chaboya and Evergreen School District is moving forward with what the future of education will look like and I am energized to be a part of this work.
For twenty plus years I have been in education in a number of different roles. Prior to my appointment to Chaboya, I was the principal at Silver Oak Elementary School, I was the director of curriculum and instruction in Los Gatos Elementary School District, principal of Fischer Middle School and a science teacher for grades 6-12. Outside of my work life, I have two boys that keep me very busy and I try to take advantage of all the outdoor activities that California offers. I also am passionate about traveling and exploring the world.
I look forward to meeting more of the school community as the new academic year begins. One of the most important aspects of my work as Chaboya's new principal is building solid relationships with students, families, teachers and staff. It will be important to me to be in the hallways, classrooms and on the quad getting to know your child(ren). Additionally, meeting parents and getting better acquainted with Chaboya's teachers and staff will help me in continuing Chaboya's commitment to academic excellence.
I feel lucky to be following Mr. Watkins as the principal of Chaboya. He took great pride in everything he did here. I will be in touch with him from time to time so that we can make this a smooth transition for students, teachers and families.
Thank you in advance for welcoming me as a part of this great community! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or just want to chat. I am here to support you.
