Honor Society students are rewarded for their outstanding efforts each quarter with an assembly or other awards to recognize their achievement. In order to be a member of the Honor Society, students must have all A's and B's (no C’s) in every class, no citizenship U's on the report card, and must maintain a 3.5 GPA.
In addition to the Honor Society assemblies, those students who are in the Honor Society for each of the first three quarters with at least a 3.5 (all A’s and B’s and no U’s or C’s) GPA each quarter, will be eligible to participate in a trip in recognition of their efforts.
At the end of the school year, top students are formally honored at Honors Awards Night. This is a by-invitation event for students who receive community awards, straight A’s for their entire enrollment at Chaboya, Top Ten Students, and our Valedictorian and Salutatorian.
The top academic students will lead our 8th graders during the graduation ceremony in June. Determination of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the 8th grade class will be calculated for those students who maintain only A’s in all of their classes for two years. In addition, the following formula will be used to calculate our Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Top Ten Students.
A+ = 6points
A = 5 points
A- = 4pointsYOU MUST OBTAIN A 1.5 GPA TO BE PROMOTED FROM CHABOYA OR ANY EVERGREEN MIDDLE SCHOOL
Each week we acknowledge students who have earned a Chaboya “Cudo” for making a great choice, taking a chance, or making a positive change. Students are recognized on the front page of the school website.
