New Student Registration (Grades 7-8)

Online registration is required for students who are new to Evergreen School District.

Students who are currently enrolled in an ESD school do not need to register again, including students who are transitioning from elementary to middle school.

7th Grade Required Immunizations

California state law requires all students entering 7th grade to meet specific immunization requirements before starting school. Please see Required Immunizations for more detailed information.

Required Vaccines

  • Tdap (Pertussis/Whooping Cough) Booster
    Pertussis is a highly contagious respiratory illness. Protection from early childhood immunizations can wear off over time, which is why the Tdap booster is required for older students.
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
    State immunization regulations require a total of two doses of the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine for advancement into 7th grade. This requirement went into effect in July 2019.

What families need to know:

  • The Tdap vaccine must be given on or after the student's 7th grade birthday
  • Proof of vaccination is required before the first day of school
  • Parents/guardians must submit documentation of their child's vaccination record to the school front office
  • Students will not be permitted to start school without valid proof of the required immunization

Electives

Middle school elective classes allow students to explore interests beyond the core academic curriculum. These classes support creativity, skill development, and student engagement.

How electives work:

  • Students select elective preferences each year

  • Electives rotate by semester, meaning students typically take one elective during the first semester and a different elective during the second semester

  • Placement is based on availability; while preferences are considered, elective assignments cannot be guaranteed

Elective selection process:

  • Students submit elective choices through an online request form

  • The registration link will be sent via email and posted on the school website during open enrollment
