After School Programs
At Katherine Smith School we have a Learning CAFE to support up to 200 more students with academic and enrichment activities including dance, art and sports. Students receive personalized learning taught by certificated teachers.
The Boys and Girls club offers after school care until 6:30 pm. Club leaders pick up students from our school and walk with them to the club center a short distance away. There is a sliding scale fee for participation in this program. This program engages youth in mentoring relationships with caring adults and offers a variety of programs by trained youth development staff. The YMCA of Silicon Valley provides after school care on site at our school for 1st - 6th grades. There is a sliding scale fee for participation in this program. YMCA after school programs provide a variety of daily activity options to help your child explore and develop their interests and talents. Through homework help and daily enrichment activities, youth enhance their academic performance, self-esteem, and build for the future. The wrestling club will be offered to upper grade students after school two days a week. Two certificated teachers lead the club and teach participants wrestling rules and skills. There are practices in addition to participation in a competitive league with other elementary schools.
