After School Programs
The concepts of discovery and invention through improvisation are encouraged through this Future Arts Now (FAN) arts education program. Students are taught basic dance routines and are encouraged to develop their own steps. This course emphasizes creativity, expression, movement, balance and the overall importance of a healthy body and proper nutrition. Through breakdancing students gain self-esteem and are given a unique opportunity to collaborate with other students in a creative outlet. The Hip Hop program begins in September and is open to all students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Classes meet each Friday for one hour and run for 24 weeks. The program usually ends in April.
Montgomery Elementary school has built a relationship to assist students that need additional support in their foundational reading and reading comprehension skills. The program is usually available in the winter and spring semesters and students are recommended by their teacher and/or principal.
